1. Do I really need this Certification?
Yes. This is the most common question from teachers. A few years ago this credential was not as necessary as it is today. Many schools require it, as well as various countries request this from the school for VISA and immigration purposes. Therefore, TEFL Certification has become mandatory and this includes even if you have other highly regarded credentials. Additionally many schools will not look at resumes that do not have it.

2. I have heard that online certification is not recognized, is this true?
No. Again, if we were talking a few years ago, it would definitely be advantageous to take an in-house course.
Now however, with the popularity of online certification growing and the improvement of courses such as ours to offer the same standards that you would receive in a classroom setting;
international schools are accepting these certificates as they know that poor quality is no longer an issue with an online course.
Technology has advanced in such a way that courses can be comparable to any in-house classroom without the teacher having the expense to travel to another country or city.
SeriousTEFL and QMCC recruitment has raised the bar in this area above all other online courses by using the most advanced operating system to present the course and complete the tasks.
Our entire course is interactive and automated; including exam grading.

6. Is this course suitable for me?
This area is up to each individual teacher. Many schools accept shorter courses. However, there are numerous institutions that require longer courses such as the 120-hour diploma, to make sure that the teacher has covered all bases. It is a good idea to decide which countries and the type of positions you are applying for in order to reach a conclusion in this area. As you can see by examining the study modules and what they include; both courses are very complete. The 60-hour course offers a Certificate and, the 120-hour course offers a Diploma. The qualification that you receive upon completion will indicate as such.

7. What is the difference between TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, etc?
Most importantly, all three are monitored by external examiners that visit each course at least once during each course. These external moderators set these three certificate courses apart from all others. The UCLES/RSA Certificate is specifically designed for teaching groups of adults (hence the "A" at the end of "CELTA"). On the other hand, the TEFL and the Trinity College Certificate provide for the teaching of younger learners as well as adults; one-to-one students as well as groups/classes of students.
